Seabone


Seabone is the international IP backbone of Telecom Italia, owned and managed by Telecom Italia Sparkle.

The map describes the logical IP network interconnecting our POPs.

Naming conventions

When doing a traceroute across our network, you can identify the POP by the 3 letter acronyms listed below. Some cities may have more than one location, but they still are the same logical POP.

The name

Seabone originally meant "Southern European Access backBONE", now it's just a brand and the name with which we call the network. It's sometimes written as Se@bone. Being a name, we refer to it with no article: it's not "the seabone", "il seabone", "la seabone". Just "Seabone".
